OmniVista Terra 10.5.2 Documentation

Prerequisites for ESXi

Please read the following prerequisites and deployment information prior to installing OmniVista Terra:

Pre-requisites (Three Nodes):

  1. Download the OVTX OVA file and Build release file ( .7z file) from the MyPortal website.

  2. Have a VMware ESXi server with version 8.

The information below provides required minimum hypervisor configurations for the OmniVista Terra VM. You will need to install 3 nodes for OV Terra each with the below mentioned requirements. Check hardware availability on the server before installation.

  • Supported Virtualization Platform: VMware

  • Number of Virtual Machines Required: 3

  • Minimum ESXi Version: 8

Hardware Requirements per Virtual Machine:

  • Processors: 8 vCPU @ 3Ghz Minimum

  • Processors: 16 vCPU @ 3Ghz Minimum (For large-scale deployments with more than 2,000 devices)

  • CPU Must Support AVX/AVX2 Instructions - In a vCenter cluster configuration, it is required to enable EVC mode with the CPU baseline set to “Ice Lake” (3rd Gen Xeon) or later. This ensures support for advanced CPU instruction sets such as AVX and AVX2. As a minimum requirement, the “Broadwell” baseline may be used. AMD CPU Excavator (2015+) is also supported.

  • RAM: 32 GB

  • Disk Type: SSD (Minimum 50 MB/s read/write speed)

  • System Disk: 200 GB

  • Data Disk Size: 3 TB

Pre-requisites (One Node):

The OmniVista Terra 10.5.2 MR1 release supports 1 VM with two supported VM configurations:

  • 1 VM, 8vCPUs, 32GB RAM and 1TB Disk Capacity for 250 devices

  • 1 VM, 16vCPUs, 32GB RAM and 1TB Disk Capacity for 400 devices

Please refer to the OmniVista Terra 10.5.2 Maintenance Release Notes for pre-requisites and installation procedures.

Note: The HA L2 cluster supports a 3-node setup ONLY in version OVTx 10.5.1.
