Introducing OmniVista® Cirrus 10
OmniVista Cirrus 10 is a Network Management System as a Service that simplifies the monitoring and managing of Stellar Access Points and AOS Switches from an easy-to-read dashboard display. A free trial version is offered that extends for 90 days and can be used to manage up to 20 devices (additional time and number of devices can be requested). See the Getting Started section for more information.
OmniVista Cirrus 10 provides two modes for managing devices:
Full Management Mode - The device (Access Point/Switch) is discovered, registered, and configured directly through OmniVista Cirrus 10. The device can only be managed in this mode if it is not already managed by OmniVista Legacy (OmniVista 2500 NMS or OmniVista Cirrus 4 and above).
Analytics Only Mode - The device (AP only) is discovered, registered, and configured through OmniVista Legacy and then declared in OmniVista Cirrus 10, where Wi-Fi analytics data is then processed and analyzed.
The Full Management Mode and Analytics Only Mode are mutually exclusive.
If an Access Point device is already managed with an OmniVista Legacy installation, the device can only be monitored by OmniVista Cirrus 10 in Analytics Only mode.
If an Access Point device is not managed with an OmniVista Legacy installation, the device can be configured and managed by OmniVista Cirrus 10 in Full Management mode.
This release of OmniVista Cirrus 10 provides a licensed-based solution that enables a Network Administrator to set up a Management Portal for their Organization. In OmniVista Cirrus, the Network Administrator at this level is known as a Managed Service Provider (MSP) User. Once an MSP User creates an Organization, they create users and give them access to the Organization’s Management Portal. These are known as Organization Users.
When an MSP User creates an account, a default End Customer (EC) Organization Management Portal is created. The MSP User can then create different physical sites under that Organization, as shown in the hierarchy diagram below.
Or, a university system could create a University MSP Organization (e.g., California State University), with sub-Organization EC Organization Management Portals for each campus (e.g., Northridge, Channel Islands). The MSP User can then create users for each EC Organization Management Portal.
OmniVista Cirrus 10 can be accessed from anywhere, using any approved browser and device (e.g., workstation, tablet). Access to OmniVista Cirrus is supported on the following browsers: Chrome 79+ (on Windows and Redhat/SuSE Linux client PCs), and Firefox 62+ (on Windows and Redhat/SuSE Linux client PCs).
