The following table lists anomalies that are available for Stellar AP’s in OmniVista Network Advisor 1.4 GA release:

Stellar AP Channel Utilization Exceeded Threshold

Notification sent when the WLAN Stellar AP Channel Utilization Exceeded the threshold for a specific radio band. WLAN Clients could be unable to associate with AP if Load Balancing or/and Band Steering features are disabled.

Rainbow Action: Acknowledge, Ignore, Get Logs

Recommended Action: Acknowledge

Stellar AP Client Association Refused

WLAN Stellar AP Client association was refused for one of the following reasons:

  • WLAN WIPS Detects a WLAN Attack and added the Clients MAC Address into the Black List, as per policy

  • Clients MAC Address is blocked by WLAN Access List

  • Client cannot associate with SSID because it violated either the Period Policy or Location Policy

Stellar AP Firmware Upgrade

Notification sent when an upgrade is done on WLAN Stellar AP. The notification contains the WLAN Stellar AP IP Address and the release upgrade.

Stellar AP Internal Error

Notification sent when the unhandled exception occurred on WLAN Stellar AP. Please contact ALE Customer Support.

Stellar AP Limit Reached

Notification sent when a Stellar AP reaches a software limit which could lead to WLAN Client association failure.

Stellar AP Power Failure

Notification sent when an unexpected reboot is detected on WLAN Stellar AP. Please check the lanpower status on OmniSwitch.

Stellar AP Radius Server Unreachable 

WLAN Stellar AP Client authentication is failing because the Radius Authentication Server is unreachable for one of the following reasons:

  • Radius Server unreachable

  • Radius Server failover

Stellar Dynamic Radio Management

Notification sent when channel overlapping is detected or when the channel is updated by DRM. Syslogs for AP Debug and Wireless log level must be set to INFORMATIONAL

Stellar Low SNR

Notification sent when SNR value measured between AP and client is lower than 25dB.

Stellar DFS RADAR

Notification is generated when a RADAR broadcast signal is detected in the used channel, automatically the channel will be changed to another randomly available channel. 

*Syslogs for AP Debug and Wireless log level must be set to WARNING

Stellar Out Of Memory

Notification generated when an out-of-memory is detected. The AP may crash if the out-of-memory continues. Users can collect the logs.

Common Anomalies

The following anomalies are common in OmniSwitch and Stellar AP’s.

Anomaly

Description

IoT Profiling Service Unreachable

OmniSwitch with device-profiling enabled (aka IoT Profiling) cannot contact OmniVista. The reason could be a connectivity issue or a configuration issue. The notification contains the OmniSwitch IP Address/Hostname and OmniVista IP Address. Or Stellar AP does not have IoT Profiling enabled.
