The Client List Dashboard provides a list of clients that are currently connected to Access Points that are managed in your network. The dashboard also includes a graphical display of the number of clients connected to managed Access Points at any given point within the specified time window. To access the Current Clients Dashboard, click on Network-Wide > Analytics > Current Clients under the “Monitor” section of the OmniVista Cirrus Menu.

Use the display filters on the dashboard to define the scope of client activity that you want to monitor within a specific window of time.

The “Current clients table” section of the dashboard provides detailed attribute values for each client session.

Scroll left to right to view client attribute values or click on the icon under the “Actions” column to view all of the attribute values in one place.

For each client in the list, the following attribute values are provided:

  • Device Name - The client Device Name

  • Client IP v4 Address - The IPv4 address of the client, if applicable.

  • Client IP v6 Address - The IPv6 address of the client, if applicable.

  • Client MAC - The MAC Address of the client

  • Device Type - If determined, the Device Type of the client. (e.g: Mobile, Computer, ...)

  • Session Duration - The length of time during which the Session was active

  • Session Start Time - The date on which the Session was started

  • Device OS - If determined, the Operating System of the client’s device

  • AP IP Address - The IP address of the Access Point to which the client is associated

  • AP MAC - The MAC address of the Access Point to which the client is associated

  • AP Model - The model type of the Access Point (e.g., OAW-AP1221, OAW-AP1251, …)

  • AP Name - The name of the Access Point

  • AP Version - The Version set in the Edit Device page of the Access Point

  • AP Location - The physical location of the Access Point connected to the client.

  • Portal Username - The username used to connect to the portal.

  • 802.1X Username - The 802.1X user name configured for the client, if applicable.

  • Auth Type - The authentication type used by the client (e.g., WPA2_WPA, PSK, …)

  • Band - The radio band through which the client attached to the AP (2.4GHz or 5GHz).

  • Channel - The working channel of the client.

  • Mode - The connection mode (802.11n (2.4G), 802.11n (5G), …).

  • RSSI - The Received Signal Strength Indicator of the client.

  • Rx Total - The total number of bytes received by the client from the Access Point.

  • Tx Errors - The total number of errors sent by the client.

  • Phy Rx Rate - The physical receive rate of the client.

  • SNR - The Signal-to-Noise ratio of the client.

  • Associated SSID - The WLAN to which the client is associated.

  • Tx Total - The total number of bytes sent by the client to the Access Point.

  • Phy Tx Rate - The physical sending rate of the client.

  • BSSID - The BSSID is the MAC address of the Access Point (WAP).

  • VLAN - The VLAN through which the client accesses the network.

  • Site Name - The Site Name.

  • Live Time - Client idle time (ins).

  • Tx Packets - The total number of packets sent by the client to the Access Point.

  • Rx Packets - The total number of packets received by the client from the Access Point.

Sometimes, for short sessions (lasting less than 5 minutes), some information may be missing because it could not be determined.

The “Connected clients over the time” section provides a graphical display of the number of clients connected to managed Access Points during the specified time window.

Client Sessions data is retained for 365 days.
