The Access Point Uptime section of the Network Analytics Dashboard provides information to help monitor and evaluate Access Point uptime and downtime. The Access Point Uptime widget displays the percentage of average uptime for all Access Points within the defined scope (organization, site, building, set of Access Points) and time interval.

Below the Access Point Uptime widget is the “Percentage of uptime per Access Point” screen that provides the average percentage of uptime and downtime for each Access Point. This information can help identify Access Points that are experiencing the most downtime.

To access more details for a specific Access Point, click on the (plus) icon under the “Actions” column. The “Event log of the Selected Access Point” screen displays and contains a log entry for each up, down, and up to transition event for the selected Access Point.

Note that the event log information is gathered based on the specified time interval. For example, if the time interval is set for 24 hours, the log events that occurred within that 24-hour period for the selected Access Point are displayed. As a result, the number of log entries will be different for different time intervals.

Each logged event provides the following information:

  • Access Point Name - The name assigned to the Access Point.

  • MAC Address - The Access Point MAC address.

  • Access Point was Started Since - How long the Access Point was communicating with OmniVista Cirrus 10.1 until the Access Point went down.

  • Link was up Since - How long the link to the Access Point was up until the link went down.

  • Access Point Stopped At - The date and time communication with the Access Point stopped.

  • Access Point has been Stopped During - The amount of time between when the Access Point went down (communication stopped) and the Access Point came back up (communication restarted).

  • Access Point Restarted At - The date and time the Access Point came back up and resumed communication with OmniVista Cirrus 10.1 (this field and the “Access Point Stopped At” field are used to calculate the amount of time the Access Point was down during the specified time interval).

  • Link Stopped At - The date and time the link to the Access Point went down.

  • Link has been Down During - The amount of time between when the link to the Access Point went down and came back up again.

  • Link Restarted At - The date and time the link to the Access Point came back up (this field and the “Link Stopped At” field are used to calculate the amount of time the link was down during the specified time interval).
